Joe is President and CEO of BoardVantage. He has led many high-technology companies through successful growth to IPO or acquisition. Prior to joining BoardVantage, Joe was Senior Vice President of marketing at Interwoven and part of the team that drove the company through one of the most successful IPOs of 1999. Previously, he held sales, marketing, and executive positions at Sun Microsystems, Network Appliance, and Genesys Telecommunications, subsequently acquired by Alcatel. Joe holds a BS in engineering from Oregon State University and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Mike is a General Partner of Foundation Capital. He has extensive experience in the software industry, including four technology start-ups. Twice in his career, Mike has created market-leading enterprise software companies: Computervision in the CAD/CAM market and Cadence in Electronic Design Automation. Before joining Foundation Capital, Mike was CEO, co-founder, and chairman of Intrinsa Corporation, a software applications company that was acquired by Microsoft. Previously, he was the Vice President of Sales at Clarify, Cadence Design Systems, and Computervision. Mike currently serves on the boards of Netflix, Responsys, ONStor, Jasper Design Automation, VaST, and Vivecon.
Neal has been part of Bay Partners since 1989 and is the Managing General Partner. As a veteran in the high-tech industry, he has an extensive track record of success, including investments in Informatica, Weblogic/BEA, and Brocade. He serves on the boards of a number of his portfolio companies, including Brocade. Before joining Bay Partners, Neal was CEO of Qubix Graphics Systems, Chief Executive of Envision Technology, and a member of the senior management teams at Zentec and Harris Corporation. In addition to his corporate endeavors, Neal serves on the board of EMQ Children and Family Services (a.k.a. Eastfield Ming Quong), and he has helped establish the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program at the University of Washington Business School.
Bill is the former Chairman of the Board of Solectron Corporation and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Aphton Corporation. In addition to being a trustee of The Schwab Funds, he serves on the boards of other public and private companies, including Ditech Networks, Harris Stratex Networks, Mission West Properties, InsideTrack, ETWater, and Rubicon Ltd. He was dean of the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1991 to 1998, and was the Vice Chairman of Worldwide Management Consulting at KPMG from 1986 to 1991.
Joseph is the W.A. Franke Professor of Law and Business at Stanford Law School and a nationally prominent expert on capital markets, corporate governance, and securities litigation. He founded the award-winning Stanford Securities Class Action Clearinghouse, launched Stanford Law School's executive education programs, and continues to co-direct Directors' College, the nation's leading venue for the continuing professional education of directors of publicly traded corporations. He also co-directs the Rock Center for Corporate Governance as well as the Stanford Program in Law, Economics, and Business. Before joining Stanford Law School, Joseph was a commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission and served on the staff of the President's Council of Economic Advisors as Counsel and Senior Economist for legal and regulatory matters.
